T & T Offers Axiall PVC 19855

In wire and cable, we often come across materials that are similar. But obviously some are better suited for certain applications than others. One such example is Axiall's 19855 flexible PVC compound.

19855 is a non-lead stabilized, oil resistant, VW-1 rated, 105C insulation compound. It is recognized by UL for THW applications and provides improved wet electrical performance compared to Axiall's 19854.

19855 Natural is standard while 19855 Black is made to order.

This is the third and final installment of the bio-based PVC series. T & T offers a wide variety of PVC compounds, but the three featured in this series are sustainable options that benefit both wire & cable makers and consumers. All three featured (D2460, C6901 and C6880) are sustainable options to standard compounds, which are currently used in the wire & cable industry.

The third and final product in this series is D2460. D2460 is a sustainable, phthalate-free PVC compound from Axiall that is formulated for riser jacketing applications. It is a green alternative to Axiall's 22460, as illustrated in the chart below.

This is the second installment of the green PVC blog series. As a reminder, these products are intended for wire and cable jacketing applications. They are sustainable alternatives to the current offerings available within the industry. This week T & T introduces C6880.

C6880 is a sustainable, flame retardant, 90C rated, jacket compound formulated by Axiall to be UV and fungal resistant. C6880 is suitable for riser and fiber optic constructions, making it a green alternative to Axiall's 16882, as illustrated in the chart below.

Back in January, T & T announced that it will distribute Axiall's Aspire Vinyl™ product line for wire and cable applications. This line was introduced by Axiall to provide customers with sustainable alternatives to traditional PVC compounds. The first wave of products being released are intended for jacketing applications.
 
In this blog series, three new green PVC products will be introduced over the course of the next three weeks. The first of which is C6901.
 
C6901 is a low cost, bio-based Axiall PVC compound. It is a sustainable, flame retardant, 90C rated, sunlight resistant jacket compound suitable for IEEE 383 jacketing applications, making it a green alternative to Axiall's 69148, as illustrated in the chart below.
